What are we made of?

....as her father had done out of his own ineffectiveness and unconscious projections. She too was an over achiever compensating for a depressed and ineffectual father and a mother who was unconsciously ambitious but not achieving herself. Later this woman had many dreams of playful men and of children and finally uncovered her own lighter side and was able to express it with others.

Where do you come from? I suggest that we are not actually our own creation. It doesn't absolve responsibility as a woman, but it sure helps make sense of our ups and downs. I decided today i have a fat ass.....really? what a waste of time, i bet i didnt think that up myself. I propose we try to leave the heavy fat asses behind and pick up some different baggage. What are you going to pick up?
My first pick, horsechest nuts.

  1. And speaking of horse chestnuts...

since I was also there picking them up. Not in place of body insecurities (at the moment), but in place of my evolving insecurities about where I, as a woman, want to fit into this society and the ever present career anxiety that comes with it. The fear of compromising myself, my work or my family for the other - another common theme that women (i think) tend to struggle with these days...

but back to those massive chestnuts that were hailing on us this windy fall week-end...

anyone have a snazzy idea of what to do with them? I invented a Martha Stewart-esque decorating technique - but found they suffocated in the glass jar and started to sweat. I was advised to roast them first, but not to be confused with "chestnuts roasting on an open fire" - the ones we eat.
